The Weapons
Imam had ordered a man
called Jawn, a previous black slave, to prepare the swords and
spears and sharpen them. His tent was full of the weapons needed
in the war. Imam Sajad who was sick at that time was resting in
a tent very near to the tent of the weapon maker and heard al-Husayn
whispering something while entering that tent. He later on said
that Imam was saying to himself “Oh. God see how the world is
behaving us, how my friends are leaving me, but I am not
dissatisfied because I think it is you who have decided upon
what might happen to me”. Sajad reports that my aunt Zeinab
burst to cry and wished she had never witnessed such things.
Husayn went to her and advised her not be impatient. He asked
her to be the leader of the caravan after him. Zeinab says “O.K.
but when my father, my brother, anybody left me and was killed,
I thought I am supported by you, but when you leave me for good,
to whom I should refer and how I should solve the problems”.
Imam asked her not to be impatient after him, and to try to
continue informing people about what the reality is.
