Imam Husayn's Birth
Though the exact date of his birth day is a matter of difference
between shi'it and Sunni historians many a time, it is said to
be 3rd or fifth of Shaban or the 5th of
Jamadi-Al-Awal or the end of Rabi –Al – Akhar, of the year 3 (H.Gh).
Safieh, the prophet's aunt, says "when Husayn was born. The
prophet asked me to take him the child and I said that I should
clean him first," the prophet said: "God has bestowed him clean
and purified." Then be addressed the infant saying "damn to the
people who will kill you". "who will kill him" Safieh asked.
"some people from Banu Umayya family" the prophet answered. Then
he performed the prayer in his left ear and recited proclamation
in his right ear.
In the 7th day after his birth, his hair was cut. His
family weighed the hair and presented the poor with the equal
amount and weight of silver. God sent 1000 angels to the earth
to congratulate the prophet on the occasion of Husayn's
birthday.
