Alteration

The word alteration is equal to deviation from the norms and falsification of something. Koran the great has mentioned this label about Jews, and in case of a comprehensive research it is revealed that the big world news agencies are monitored or controlled by the Jews. e.i. Associated Press or U.N press. Unfortunately, a lot of alteration have been rendered towards Ashura event aiming at devaluing it, and as professor Motahhari, the great Moslem philosopher, rightly put it, "we should not weep and cry for what they suffered from in Karballa but for whatever falsification and alteration done about their objectives by many to decrease the effect of their action.

Fore example; it is said that Leila (mother of Ali-Akbar (A.), son of Imam Husayn) had vowed to grow sweet bails between Karballa and Medina, if the son is left healthy and alive in the war. The claim was later rejected by researchers according to documents pointing out the fact that firstly, she hadn't been present in Karballa event, and secondly, it is impossible to do such a thing in that area being unsuitable to grow vegetables, and thirdly, the areas cover a 300 parasangs (equal to 1800 klms) span.

It is said that Imam (A.) had killed 3000 enemies during the war. If this is so, he should have been dealing with the activity for more than 83 hours and 20 minutes, killing each of them in only one second (which is something impossible).

Types of Alteration

Lexical Alteration; in which the form of a quotation or sentence is changed and additions or deletions are employed.

Pragmatic Alteration; in which the form is left intact, but it is interpreted in a way that changes, or even negates, the original idea mentioned. Therefore, the second type of alteration seems to be more dangerous than the first type: an example might shed some lights on the issue under discussion: Attime of the construction of Medina's mosque, Amar was very hardworking and active, and therefore, the prophet (Muhammad) declared " تعتلک الفته الباغيه" (you would be killed by a group of rebels). According to this quotation, Amar's presence in Imam Ali's army was a privilege, showing that Ali (A.s.) is right. When the man was killed in the war, everybody came to know that the confronting group (Muawiya's) is against realism and truth; considering verse (No; ) Hujarat in Koran.

Muawiya's army was nearly collapsing down, when he played a tricky role and said "Amar was brought to war by Ali, therefore, he is the cause of his death, not you and I".

Such alteration and deviations could be found enormously about the Karballa event.
